Epithalon (also spelled Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide associated with research into aging biology, circadian processes, cellular stress responses, and telomere-related mechanisms.

Human evidence summary
Only two human studies are described in detail in the available research. One gave 162 patients with a vision disease (retinitis pigmentosa) small injections near the eye for 10 days and reported improved vision and wider field of view in most patients. The other gave 75 women a small daily dose under the tongue for 20 days and found changes in melatonin-related markers and certain sleep-related genes. Neither study gives enough detail about how carefully it was designed (was there a placebo? was it randomized?) to fully trust the results (Araj et al. 2025).
Preclinical evidence summary
There is a decent amount of animal and cell research. In human cells grown in a lab, the peptide lengthened telomeres by an average of 33% in some tests — though results were inconsistent, with a few showing no change or even a decrease. It also let skin cells (fibroblasts) divide more times before wearing out. Some rodent studies found it protected kidneys and lowered tumor rates, but another rodent study found no effect on tumors at all — so the animal evidence is mixed, not uniformly positive.
