N-Acetyl Semax Amidate (also called 'NASA' by online communities) is a chemically modified version of Semax, a peptide developed in Russia that itself is based on a fragment of a natural hormone called ACTH. The modifications — adding an acetyl group and an amide group — are meant to make it more resistant to being broken down by the body, similar to the Selank version above.
Mechanism under study
Unmodified Semax is believed to boost levels of BDNF and NGF, two natural 'growth fertilizer' proteins for brain cells, especially after brain injuries like a lack of blood flow (neurotrophin induction study). It's also thought to reduce inflammation-related activity in the brain during injury (Int J Mol Sci 2021). The acetylated/amidated version is theorized to work the same way, just resisting breakdown longer, but this hasn't actually been proven for this exact compound.

None exist specifically for this modified compound — no human trial of N-Acetyl Semax Amidate has been done. All clinical-type evidence belongs to the original, unmodified Semax (which, notably, is only officially registered as a medicine in Russia and some neighboring countries, not in the US or Europe).
